Hello and welcome to my portfolio! My name is Leyla Inal and I am currently a first-year student at Davidson College enrolled in the Humanities course. My portfolio largely explores Mulvey’s theory of the male gaze and how its reach has extended through cinema, literature, social media, advertisement, and women in their everyday lives. I hope that through exploring Mulvey’s critical theory I can spread more awareness about the effects of the male gaze and how it manifests in the content we consume daily. Through gaining a better understanding I hope to foster conversations that challenge and reshape our perspectives on gender and media representation. As you navigate through my portfolio, you will find a series of essays, projects, and multimedia presentations that delve into various aspects of this theory across different mediums. I invite you to engage with my work, share your thoughts, and perhaps see the world a little differently. Thank you for visiting!
